Connect, share, and create together in our network of makers, builders, and changemakers committed to sustainable community empowerment.
Join Our CommunityDIY Solidarity is a grassroots movement that empowers communities through collaborative learning, resource sharing, and sustainable DIY projects. We believe that by working together and sharing knowledge, we can create resilient, self-sufficient communities that support every member's growth and well-being.
Founded in 2018 by a group of passionate makers and community organizers in Portland, Oregon, DIY Solidarity emerged from the recognition that traditional support systems often fall short. We started with neighborhood tool libraries and skill-sharing workshops, growing into a comprehensive network that spans urban gardens, maker spaces, repair cafes, and educational cooperatives.
We operate on principles of mutual aid, environmental sustainability, and inclusive participation. Our approach emphasizes hands-on learning, resource conservation through repair and reuse, and the democratization of knowledge and skills traditionally gatekept by commercial interests.
